Re: 3.45 Differential install

It looks like we will need to physically compare all of these components. I have not had any issues, but, please do not accept my findings blindly. I am away from my car and cannot verify anything currently.

Re: 3.45 Differential install

So.... after trying to use Rock Auto as a "Hollander Exchange", I have nothing definitive. The flex joint ACDELCO 92267163 shows as being used at the engine side and differential end, is used on the GTO, G8, GXP, Caprice and Sedan SS for all models and years. The pinion flange ( actually the 6L80e s...

Re: 3.45 Differential install

When I did the swap, we lifted the entire car up using the hydraulic jack on the sliding rail between the ramps. The lower control arm just hung there. We might have lifted the lower control arm up to relieve the tension on the upper control arm and toe link. As far as the coupler issue, I did not s...

Re: puzzeled by brake switch status

Even though you probably don't have ABS on the C10 could the ABS system, internally, be looking for the brake position signal? Is the ECM looking for the ABS? Just guessing here...

Re: air intake

I believe that the vacuum hose that is capped off is part of the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system. It is the "clean" connection side of the system.

Re: Won a car at auction, but check engine light & abs traction are on, thinking of walking away

One area of concern to consider when "dislodging" particles in the oiling system, there is a small screen filter under the oil pressure gauge. It filters the oil to the DoD system. Is there a possibility of clogging that? I've never run Seafoam to clean an engine, but an old school way is to add 1/2...

Re: Lake Norman Area NC

As far as being "factual" my comments are from my observations since 2011. When I first started looking at the Caprice PPV there were a few cars that I test drove. A few still had the red Holden screen at start up and would show that there was a backup camera, even there was no camera installed. The...

Re: 2012 ppv parts

Try a replacement bulb Unity U-8547. I've seen them from $185 to $245. I have one on my 2012 Impala. Super bright and narrow beam. I had to put a different connector on the wiring to make it work. Not tough at all.

Re: Lake Norman Area NC

Great find, with such low miles and no abuse. Even though the 9C3 "Detective" option stopped in 2013, these cars still could have been ordered with carpeting, full wheel caps, no spot lights, and other options. GM, for some of their "Press Media Fleet", used silver cars with blue graphics. Can you s...
