Hotrod, I would talk with Texas Speed about the parts included in the DOD Delete kit. How complete is the kit? New pushrods would be needed if the base circle of the cam is smaller. The DOD specific lifters will be replaced. I would install 16 new lifters. Definitely new springs, we don't have VVT. ...

I use HPTuners as an interface and I used Chris Henry Motorsports for the tuning. Chris is on the forum here and has a lot of experience with the G8's, Caprices and SS's. Great guy to work with.

I would start with a charged battery installed. There is a shift interlock that needs to see 12v power. It's a combination of brake pedal depressed and 12v.

OK, My curiosity was piqued... So, I found this video. Comparing the two videos, there is outside air is available to the O2 sensor from gaps between the wires. I would also agree that you would not want to solder the wires as this would create a resistance and give an inaccurate reference voltage. ...
