Re: L77 engine with/without AFM: with/without VVT?

Thank you, their information contradicted every other source, so thought I would post here to see what response I would get.

L77 engine with/without AFM: with/without VVT?

Hello- Texas Speed is telling me that 8th digit vin code 2 denotes an L77 engine without AFM and with VVT. This is new to me, thought code 2 just meant L77 engine. I asked them for more details, they want me to inspect valley cover to confirm and I understand the VVT timing cover is deeper, all hard...

Re: Chevy SS Instrument Cluster

Hello
Do I understand correctly that all basic functions including coolant temperature, oil pressure etc. all came on immediately, and that you sent the SS cluster away only for correct odometer setting and peripheral data ( camera's)?

Thank you!

Chevy SS instrument cluster swap?

Hello and thanks for taking time to read this.

In a 2014 WN Caprice, can a 2014 Chevy SS instrument cluster be swapped in? If so, plug and play? Will it activate the SS coolant temperature and otherwise swap with the color center display?

Thank you!

PS I just found the thread on the swap.

Re: Battery light with noise

Just talked to the local starter and alternator shop, they can rebuild the high output alternator, but the price isn't much less than a new one at $289.

Re: Battery light with noise

Hey guys thanks for all the reply's and links. Although the belt tensioner looks in need of replacing, twitching and a little noise, the belt looks new and appears to be turning without a drag, car starts runs quiet for a few seconds then noise from alternator like a coffee grinder followed by click...

Re: Battery light with noise

Whirring ( bearings likely) noise coming from alternator area, with long bladed screw driver touching alternator casing can feel grinding vibration in handle of screw driver. Hopefully the local starter/alternator rebuild shop can rebuild it, new ones are pricey. Thanks for your reply. Clicking soun...

Battery light with noise

Hello and thanks for taking time to read this. This is regarding a 2014 6.0L Caprice WN. I got the car in mid January, it started fine, but turned over a little slower when the temps got below 10 degrees outside, in that the battery was a few years old I replaced it with a new AGM battery. I've put ...

Has anyone replaced the bushings in their front sway bar?

Hello-
Has anyone replaced just the bushings in their PPV front sway bar? Mine is a 2014, I read where the only GM part is the entire bar, but have found just the bushings online, since they are in there tight, is there a " have done it here is a practical way to do it " method?

Thank you!
