Re: ABS and Stabilitrak faults

When I had the ABS light come on on our '12, I ended up getting the Blue Driver unit. It at least reads the ABS stuff. I think it will also read the stabilitrak stuff, too, but haven't had to get that deep into it. I downloaded the app to our Galaxy Tab 4 tablet. Works quite well. I think we knocked...

Re: New Owner from Canada

I’m looking to bring one across from Minnesota. What did you do for the Proof of Origin certificate? Do you go right to a GM dealership and request one? I need to prove it meets EPA standards. We have no smog rule in my area. Won't the labels under the hood and driver's door jamb suffice? They all ...

Re: 3.45 Differential install

Perhaps the 'donut' has become deformed or is somehow compromised internally? The former might show up with turning a wheel with the car in neutral and a runout gauge riding on that end of the driveshaft. Not sure what the max runout would be allowable. The latter would be harder to test, and may no...

Re: Radiator fans are loud

Do that. I'm pretty sure it was handled as a recall. I don't think our car was still under warranty when that work got done, but it's been a while ago, so don't remember exactly.

Re: Cam Change in car

I was just wondering about that myself when I do my cam swap, but since mine has north of 95K miles on it and 2/3rds of the hour idling in Muggy Florida and a compressor that has a little tick and takes a few minutes to really get cold I dont think I'll mind taking a trip to the A/C shop for once o...

Re: Black Bear Tune anyone?

They did the tune on our Tahoe PPV, and even though we didn't do much, other than adjust the torque management and throttle response, they did a great job of that. They even tuned it for premium, since we always run that anyway. I contacted them about our Caprice, and they stated they could do it as...

Re: PCM Removal

Hmm, I could be quite wrong, since I've not done this, but I thought the car would run okay, but your CEL will be on until you get the DOD deleted from the tune. If it's not revving, you may want to verify everything is properly-connected. I think there's also a vacuum hose that comes off the power ...

Re: JBA Headers

I just have to ask, did they clear the oil cooler and plumbing? And I didn't notice any 02 sensors? Thanks Walt Looks like according to Groundczero, they "fit without any issues". You can see the O2 sensor wires in the picture on page 2. You can see the connector on the driver's side handing down b...

Re: Radiator fans are loud

So 3 years later I find my car now making the dreaded noise, after looking and listening to them in operation what I observe is the passenger side one seems to be the noise maker, its very obvious as it is slowing down to a stop and also seems setup that this side runs at a high speed while the dri...

Re: JBA Headers

Got it. The JBAs we installed on my wife's Dakota R/T were Hot Jet coated, and looked to be stainless because of the finish. They still look almost new, but then again, the truck has less than 4000 miles on it.
