Re: Starter Wont Engage -Immobilizer ???

I added 2 flip keys from the internet, after I had them cut. 1 added fine and the 2nd flipped the engine Immobilized and it wouldn't clear even when I put the original key in. Tried the 10 minute relearn and 30min and no change. I have an MDI clone so I looked at it in tech2win and saw it was stuck ...

Re: Starter Wont Engage -Immobilizer ???

I had to order a new key from the Chevy dealer to fix it when I was getting the engine immobilized message in my car. $40 & came in cut and ready to go, I used it and it cleared right away. Looking at it with a tech2 I had 0 keys learned and it was in learn mode, but wouldn't learn any of my old key...

Re: can I just swap out the radio?

The vin is stored on the eprom in the radio(in the standard IQ config at least). You can change it if you have a $100 eprom programmer. https://web.archive.org/web/20190226060552/http://www.carmodder.com/viewtopic.php?f=806&t=12679&start=219 Its pretty easy, I did mine following that with no issues,...

Re: ISO Solder Guide to AUX cables on IQ Radio

Yup, that is how I understand it also.
The center wire is the positive, and the shielding wire is the ground.

Fairly certain bare copper is ground and the positive is the white insulated strand.

You asking me this question is the blind leading the blind, so good luck!

Re: SS Sedan Steering Wheel Installation

Here is the sport mode diagram for a 2017 Caprice from the same site. Seems the Caprice only has the sport mode button on a different connector of the BCM. https://imgur.com/a/dpOhdf1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I used 2017 because on that site the 2014 diagram was clearly for '11...

Re: Remote start adventure (11-13)

You can try calling ACDelco Techline and asking for a VCI reconfiguration calibration for the BCM that would add factory remote start. There is a chance that could work. Would help if you had the option package designation for remote start to give them. I tried that route for my instrument panel but...

Re: SS Sedan Steering Wheel Installation

Found the 2014 SS TUTD wiring diagram on http://www.bbbind.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is free to register there and they have TSB and Wiring diagrams available. Took a screen shot of it, posted it here: https://imgur.com/a/FmmSWqb" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fa...

Re: ISO Solder Guide to AUX cables on IQ Radio

Lets see a picture of the solder job. Steve, what do you think about using a crimp on ring connector and a nut and bolt to attach the wires to the board in the future for guys without a connector? Do they make them small enough to use here? Seems to me it chould be easy enough to do for most and av...

Re: ISO Solder Guide to AUX cables on IQ Radio

Do you have anything else that outputs video with an yellow rca you can plug into the video in to test it? I would start there. I was able to use my phone, but anything with a Composite video output should show on the screen. OK so I soldered the AUX cable onto the right pins. Pulled power from igni...

Re: ISO Solder Guide to AUX cables on IQ Radio

My understanding is that if you connect the white cable to position #3 then that is your ground for the backup camera and the red cable connected to position #4 would be your positive cable. Honestly though, I'm not sure if the White Neg cable is necessary based on those that actually had the 20 pi...
