2012 Caprice PPV 9C1 for sale by owner (Richmond, VA)
Longtime forum member, loved and enjoyed my Caprice since 2017 and now its time for a new home. Selling my 2012 Caprice PPV with the 6.0 L77(LSX) V8. Owned the car 6 years and had my fun with it. Runs great, shifts great. Done during my ownership: -new alternator -new starter -cooling hoses -auto tr...

Re: Seeking General Advice for High Mileage
In addition to everything mentioned already: trans fluid and filter, and rear end fluid. I wouldn't screw around with anything but OE spec fluids, the rear needs a limited slip additive as well.
Factory manual says these fluids are due at 105k.

Re: Afm disabler
As mooseman said earlier, if you really can't stand the sound and you want to disable DOD right now, disconnect the vacuum sensor on the brake booster. Zero downside apart from a permanent CEL but it's been great for me until I can get a good tune done.

Re: Which caprice is best? What to look for when buying?
My personal opinion is that the 2012-2013's are the most desirable. They're past the kind of oddball 2011's (with all of their teething issues), they have the shifter in the center console, hydraulic power steering which is serviceable (as opposed to the electric setup where if there is any issue, y...

Nope, just pulled each strut off and swapped the springs. One of the easier strut removals I've done on any car; the whole process took about 3 hours start to finish.jreid8231 wrote:Any special mods to the suspension change or bolt right on?

Definitely check idle/total hours before purchase. This can be checked through the steering wheel controls for the instrument cluster.

Re: Financing issues.
Figured I'd add to the discussion, I'm financing my '12 9C1 through my credit union (VACU) at an interest rate of 4.5%. This is my first loan of any type and first time financing a vehicle. Bought it from a small used car lot specializing in ex-police vehicles. The process was very smooth for the mo...
