Re: Snowflake (AC) light off, a/c still on

If you have it to defrost or split defrost/feet, the A/C is always on to remove moisture except below freezing temps (which is useless/a waste 98% of the time). However, I also find it difficult to turn off A/C. And anytime I turn the system off and back on, the A/C is always turned back on no matte...

Re: BRAKE light stays on with ABS.

Well, it must be a Holden thing because I tried it in the Cap and it didn't read them (I pulled the ABS fuse). On my North American made TrailBlazer, it even pulls BCM codes for the missing radio and OnStar module as well as ABS codes.

Re: Canuck Caprice

I just did some more research on that sticker and it is a Canadian Safety Compliance label and that it is certified as a passenger car with the type code PC/VT: https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/C.R.C.,_c._1038/FullText.html#s-6 So it is not an incomplete or commercial vehicle. I think...

Re: Canuck Caprice

It should be no different from a Pontiac G8, Chevrolet SS, or freaking Toyota Camry. Ask your insurance company how they would insure your 2018 Chevrolet SS. Pretty much the same car. Unfortunately, the SS was never brought to Canada either so that's out as an argument. I know what you guys south o...

Re: Canuck Caprice

Well, this might be the end of the line for this Canadian Caprice. I can't find any damned insurance for the Caprice. When I first bought it, I had issues with finding insurance for it because the VIN comes up as invalid on their system. Finally found some when a broker was able to get it done with ...

Re: JBA Headers

I still haven't installed them but they are supposed to be a direct bolt-in as the SS and Caprice as essentially the same.

The Elm 327 will NOT read ABS codes.
Well, I'm gonna have to test that out on the Cap. I'll pull the fuse to get a code and see what happens. Like I said, it does work on my TrailBlazer.

Re: BRAKE light stays on with ABS.

A Bluetooth Elm 327 adapter and the Car Gauge Pro app on Android should be able to read ABS codes much cheaper than any other option out there. I say should because it has worked on my Trailblazer but haven't tested it on my Caprice yet.
