Re: Just back from new camshaft tuning Question

I left the engine in the car, as I did not switch the stall converter. The biggest challenge in that method was re-installing the harmonic balancer. With an automatic transmission, the motor will rotate, I had to remove the starter, and use the flywheel to hold the motor in place, the books say tor...

Has anyone done a 4L80 conversion on a PPV to date? I am in the process of doing it right now. Just have some questions on driveshaft if anyone has.
I know plenty of G8 guys and SS guys have done it. Did you have to beat the tunnel or make any other permanent mods to make it fit?

Just curious, why?
It's a much stronger transmission, you can have a transbrake, the tuning is probably easier (I stay away from only the most basic 6L80 tuning), a lot of high powered don't need the crazy-low first gear ratio of the 6L80, and they're cheaper.

Re: 3.27 differential

The sticker on a limited slip diff will say "LSD" on it. When in doubt, look at the sticker.

Re: Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors

Does anyone know how much weight, if any, this caliper swap saves?

Re: 11.68 @ 117

Need to work on that tree a bit! Nice pass. How does that converter/gear combination work on the street? Just curious. Our 96 SS has a converter and gear in it. It's kind of lazy off a light, unless you stick your foot in it, but otherwise not bad to drive. Just wondering about this combo. Th...

Re: 11.68 @ 117

The next weekend I ran an 11.48 @ 118.42. I have been told that it was the fastest naturally aspirated pass ever in a Caprice PPV. That was done with a stock bottom end/factory displacement with unported heads, intake, and throttle body!

Re: Zl1 rear diff or cradle in a ppv?

(having some trouble finding the sickest PPV's out there to use as template, time is money and I have spent way too much time it feels learning stuff some others already know)(and I haven't even started the actual build). But like it has been said.... "follow the G8, SS, Camaro boys". There is a to...
