Re: Warranty
Sounds very similar to Navy Lifer and The Tech. Car was at the dealer from day one. Warranty was activated by GM in June 2012 and sold as "New" on October 12, 2013 with 47 miles on the odometer. The dealer brought up the warranty start date as soon as I made offer. I negotiated a GM Major ...

Warranty
When I purchased new 2011 Caprice PPV in late October 2013 from dealer with 47 miles on odometer, I was informed that the warranty started in June 2012 even though it sat on the lot. Anyone else run into this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: New PPV 9C1 Owner - Some Questions
Good question about roof moldings. When the first one came into dealer parts department, I was notified that the molding would have to be painted. The packaging is marked "paint required" when in fact they are the standard unpainted matte black moldings on all 9C1/9C3 color vehicles. New r...

Re: New PPV 9C1 Owner - Good Progress at Dealer
Today dealer changed the other black roof molding that was spotted/acid rain stains from sitting out in weather. Their body shop did the replacement on warranty - looks good. They also replaced the high pressure AC Freon line that was leaking. They did a nice job cleaning the Freon oil that leaked -...

Re: Oil Separator/Catch Can
Will the Catch Can installation get rid of that "burned oil" odor that followed my first oil change last week at 500 miles? When stopped at idle, smells like "blow-by" from old 1960's car. Engine was initially overfilled at dealer - dropped oil level to just below "FULL"...

Re: Moldings and Getting Correct Parts
Bill you are correct in regard to "Paint to Match" notation on parts box/label. Dealer called to tell me they had to send the roof moldings to body shop. Then they checked to find out all roof moldings on 9C1 are black.
Lots of interesting information here for sure.

Moldings and Getting Correct Parts
The 9C1 I bought a few weeks ago had some pretty good stains on it from being out in the weather for an extended period. I used Griots Garage Clay Bat and Detailing Spray to remove all of the surface grime from the paint. I had to make 2-3 passes to get it all off and get the paint surface prepared ...

Re: New PPV 9C1 Owner - Some Questions
Thanks for the reply Tom. When I picked mine up in late October, I never checked the AC assumed the dealer completed a pre-delivery inspection. Brought it back a couple of days later and they found the Freon low. They added an unknown amount. But after seeing the Freon dripping at the bottom of the ...

Re: New PPV 9C1 Owner - Some Questions
Thanks to all for the feedback and replies to "burned oil" odor. This is a new 2011 Caprice 9C3 titled new to me after it was on the Chevy lot for extended period. Just recently, two area dealers released 3 Caprice PPV 9C3's for retail sale - all sold. Lucked out with one white 9C3 with sp...

Re: New PPV 9C1 Owner - Some Questions
Thank you for the replies. In regards to the "burned oil" odor in the passenger cabin when idling, I followed suggestion to open hood while engine is running with headlights on at night and no haze or smoke is visible. I also used a high lumen LED flashlight to inspect in, around and under...
