Re: Are 9C3s really worth the extra cost?

Just as a point of reference, the carpet new from GM is $790.00. It IS cheaper than the rubber mat, though Okay, two points of reference, the shifter assembly for a 9C1 is available as a unit, but the 9C3 you have to piece it together, but it also includes pieces you have to add under the car, so if...

Re: Stainless Works Chevy SS header/exhaust in progress!

Heh, yep. While I have access to all the tools and parts to build AN hoses, and access to a pipe bender, I don't have access to a welder, nor talent to wield one. I'm starting to think that might be something to move up the list of shop tools, as I continue to have projects that could be quickly res...

Re: 2014 Caprice in NJ

Oh, definitely. If a seller is willing to do that, and given that it's a used car dealership, which lowers the level of trust to begin with, one never knows exactly where this seller is willing to stop. This is probably a car that you don't want to put money on until you've physically seen it.

Re: 2014 Caprice in NJ

Are you sure that's the same car? It looks like the odometer noted in the ad you posted had 88XX miles on it, while the one the OP posted, which should be a later posting, shows 87XX miles on the clock. I didn't see a VIN in your posting, but I didn't spend a ton of time looking around.

Re: Stainless Works Chevy SS header/exhaust in progress!

Hmm, well, that's the first bit of _any_ information I've received regarding this mod. Thank you. Most of what I've read has been more like the underwear gnomes episode of South Park. Only the middle bit where the gnomes are slowly shuffling their feet trying to figure out what step 2 is, is where t...

Re: New 9C1 in So Cal

Yeah, nice. It must be an early '13, because I thought they went to the dash shifter in 2013, didn't they?

Re: Stainless Works Chevy SS header/exhaust in progress!

Oh I definitely will. I PM'ed Chris @ SW, and he indicated that while he didn't have exact measurements (annoying), he said that there were two places where the Caprice was longer than the SS, and that was in the rear passenger area, and behind the axle. So, I'm hoping I can just add some 3" pi...

Re: Stainless Works Chevy SS header/exhaust in progress!

I was planning on getting the entire SS exhaust system, and using short lengths of straight pipes to make up the difference where it's needed. So yes, I'll be using the SW X-pipe,mand probably everything else.

Re: Stainless Works Chevy SS header/exhaust in progress!

Perhaps with some short lengths of 3" pipe, one could put together an exhaust system, header to tailpipe, using SW parts. The exhaust needs to be lengthened in two places, after the X-pipe and after the axle. After I get done with our race car project, I may order the kit, and some 3" T-30...
