Re: 2014 Chevrolet SS

I woulda called it a Chevelle SS. Or Biscayne SS. Or Bel Air SS. Or heck, use a Holden name, Commodore SS! Lots of options rather than the stupid plain SS name. If it were me, I would have killed the FWD Impala and switched the name back to the RWD platform where it belongs. If they wanted to keep ...

Re: 2014 Chevrolet SS

The new SS appearance IS different--think of what the initial acceptance level of the Caprice was in 1991. Also, realize this car is only going to be around in it's current iteration for 3 years, a constant problem GM seems to have with "good" cars. Does it really matter? At least they're ...

Re: Standard PPV Wheels: Exact Specs?

Stud patterns and hub register diameters (center bore) are the other moving targets in all of this. 4.75" (120.65mm) was the standard for GM cars for a very long time--both with 7/16" & 12mm . Hub register diameter was in the 70.3mm to 70.5mm range (up to 2.776" nominal) 5.00"...

Re: rear seat overhead handles and hanger hooks

Just had a note from Steve Eckart, PPV owner in Austin who doesn't (and won't) spend any time on NCF. Here's his comment: . ..there are brackets behind the headliner. You need to order the little grommet and/or devises that the four screws go into. They are the same on the G8. And, they are the same...

Holden WM maplight & harness

A while back, I had inquired of C.P. about a better light setup in the overhead console. Looking at some photos of Holdens, I had noticed a version with individual reflector "spots" and individual control switches for both front positions. C.P. identified the the unit, but it was pretty pr...

Re: rear seat overhead handles and hanger hooks

The distance is 6.75" or 1.71cm Let me ask this, as it leaves the door open, and I hope you don't mind--(off topic)--do you happen to have a real name? Don't take that wrong--we're all adults here and there is not a need to hide behind screen names. If you need to because of your line of work, ...

CariSSma, the hosting organization, posted on Facebook and elsewhere, to put the word out about the eligibility of the Caprice PPV to participate in all of the competitive events....

Re: A few annoyances

Key - p/n 92252258 is the flip key blank w/ Chevy Bow Tie logo (GM dealership should be able to cut these blanks) Tom, that PN doesn't check as a good number for North America--where did you get it? As for the catch can, is that effectively doing what the factory now offers as the 1LE PCV system PN...
