Re: 2012 caprice lsa build, my quest for 10s in the family s

Would the stock coil packs/valve covers not work with the blower? Are you just going to do the boost a pump/pump controller re-flash? Flex fuel? Please tell me flex fuel!! Maybe Dave will chime in but he has since sold this car. I believe he started with a reflashed fuel computer, then a DSX supple...

Yes that is correct. Jeff told me that he bought the leather covers from Australia Ebay for a great price. I have since searched and can't find the same product.

Re: Insurance question. Gray market car?

My $14K, 2014 Caprice is the most expensive car for me to insure and it is also my oldest car. Other than my Mini Cooper, the average cost of my other cars is over $85K! I asked my insurance agent to look into it. She reported that the VIN for the Caprice comes up as a fleet vehicle and has no ABS, ...

Re: DoD Delete question

Yes it will throw a code for DOD failure. As to whether you can run it without a tune will mostly depend on what cam you are using. Generally it's a bad idea to change a cam without a tune as it fundamentally changes the way your engine breaths and hence its fueling requirements along with it. Just ...

Re: Cam Change in car

I've done it both ways. I prefer to do it with the condenser off but in the end keeping the AC intact saves a lot of extra work. To do it right, you should replace the dryer, then hook up the charging manifold and fiddle with the cans of crap. I just tilted to condenser up and bungee chorded it up f...

David,
Your car is looking awesome. Hope tuning is going well for you.

Could you give more info on the Welds for both front and back (model and offset) and the what tires you are running (Make, model, size)?

Re: LS3 cam, DOD block off or just HPTune off?

Yes, this is what I'll do. thanks If you are going to be beating on your car and bouncing it off redline, I would also recommend uprating the springs to some PAC or other beehive style. They are cheap and the extra spring rate will help the heavier valves in our heads from floating. Don't bother wi...

Re: GOING INTO GEAR HARD

If all you changed was the diff and the hard bushings that's your answer. If it used to go hard into gear but it's just worse now, your tuner most likely deactivated all of your transmission torque management subsystems including garage shift torque reduction. TM is useful in making certain operatio...
