Re: Fuel door lock

Got the pigtail, just in case it's not part of the PPV body harness, The actuator is a geared motor that moves a pin in or out based on the command from the door lock system. I do not know what the default position is when no power is applied, or if there is a "fail" position...,l'd say it...

Re: 2014 PPV order guide

Electric power steering is the future. The ZL1 Camaro already has it, the Z/28 will have it, and, yes, the VF/SS Performance Sedan gets it.

Re: leather shift knob >>> steering wheel control lighting

From what I've been looking at, I think you should be able to switch over the PPV controls/harness to the G8 wheel and not have the red lights. A little careful disassembly allows the parts to be moved from the PPV bezels to the G8 bezels. I've not had the PPV wheel apart yet to see if this IS the c...

Re: Fog Lamps - more kits being ordered, who's in?

I will talk to my dealer tech about fog lamp function and the BCM interface--just like the remote start function requiring a BCM software code patch to make it functional, the fog lamps may be the same--on top of the wiring additions needed, since PPV had no fogs. We would almost need to get the wir...

leather shift knob

Anyone who has already upgraded to a leather steering wheel or leather-covered console cover may also be interested in a leather shift knob. While there is a Pontiac G8 accessory leather knob assembly available, it may be preferable to use the correct replacement G8 production part. The knob assembl...

Fuel door lock

This is an easy mod from G8! PPV has a push-latch mechanism for the fuel filler door. The G8 also has a lock for the door that activates with the door locks. The locking assembly is PN 92219624 and bolts in as a replacement to the stock latch. The wiring runs inside the body to a point in the trunk ...

Re: Fog Lamps - more kits being ordered, who's in?

Tom, I sent you an e-mail with background from Steven Harbour's install, including pictures. Should help - maybe Steven could do a condensed version of his documentation and make it a Tech Article, along with comments from others who have also done the install.

2014 PPV order guide

The PPV for 2014 looks to be significantly different, specs-wise, as the WM Caprice (LWB) updates to WN a la VE >>>VF (SWB). No more 9C3, as I read it, for starters. While there are some nice features in the 2014 version, the personalization of the new model will potentially be more challenging. The...

Re: 2012 PPV listing - For Sale

Unless someone is holding out, I think we're aware of only one actual owner, so far, with a 2012 PPV--check the post just above yours. There is another PPV operator on NCF--his work vehicle is running the 3.6L V6. The difference between model years are subtle--and typically not visual in nature. The...
