Re: NEED Hood Safety Latch!
If your safety latch is hitting the core support, your hood is probably bent on the underside where the safety latch pivots. It can be bent back so the latch clears the core support.

Re: Easier/cheaper way to fix a collapsed DOD/AFM lifter
If I remember correctly, the first design had more problems with the lifter internals hanging up. Pretty sure the Caprices use a second design/different manufacturer. I would find out what side has failed and pull the valve cover and see what moves when cranking. I had one that the valves moved fine...

Re: Howdy from Austin, TX
I have three cars that came from Garland. We named one after the officer that left a bunch of business cards in it. They were all slick tops.

Re: 2013 Driveshaft u-joint part number?
If have a dial caliper, you should be able to get some dimensions of the joint without removing it. A decent part store should be able to find a joint using your dimensions.

Re: 2013 Driveshaft u-joint part number?
I haven’t seen one with removable clips. It may have been modified at some time in the past. A decent part store should be able to get a part number for the joint if you can get the dimensions.

Re: 2013 Driveshaft u-joint part number?
The caps are staked in. You might find a driveshaft shop that can do something with it, but it won’t be inexpensive like an old school u-joint.

Re: Lugnut issues
That part number you have posted are for 12mm studs. You need nuts for 14mm studs. Once you pull the stainless steel cover off of the lug, just try different size sockets until one fits decent.

Re: Headliner repair?
Once the foam starts to go, the headliner is pretty much done. I pulled the fabric off of all of mine and then vacuumed the gummy/sticky foam backing off of the backing. Haven’t had the motivation to pull the backing out of the car and recovering it.
