Re: Hello from Texas
Thanks! I still have a lot to learn about his particular platform as this the first year we used them but having the GTO and a few friends with G8s Im picking it up pretty quick through the problem solving process of upfitting and doing lots of research through a contact I developed at Kerr industri...

Re: Hide a Key Options
Another option that I tried successfully on my 2014 Caprice... I find it odd that the factory key fobs are disabled when a key is detected in the ignition on these cars (at least the 14s). This makes it impossible to leave the engine running, lock the car and use an addition key fob to open the door...

Re: Future of Caprice PPV?
Although it has somewhat similar peak power numbers as the 6.0L I'm sure the power curve is different with the smaller 5.3. Also the main disadvantage is that the Tahoe weighs about 1000-1500 lbs more than the current Caprice. The Tahoe does get the job done just fine but compared to all of the othe...

Re: Future of Caprice PPV?
I have not seen any sales data on the 2015 Tahoe as of yet. I read an interesting article in Police Fleet Manager that quoted a GM rep saying, "Many police fleet managers, chiefs, and sheriffs consider the 94-96 Caprice 9C1 with the LT1 engine to be the best overall police car ever made. It is ...

Highbeam bulbs H7 vs H9
Although the stock headlights on the Caprice are incredible especially when compared to the 91-96 models I could not help but notice that the highbeam bulbs have a the little black "cap" on the top like the old 9005 bulbs low beam bulbs did to reduce glare I guess. I noticed on my GTO the ...

Re: Hello from Texas
Thanks! I saw your list of cars in one of your posts and thought the same thing. I never had a B4C Camaro but the rest of your list made me think another version of me existed. You have a 73-77 Pontiac coupe, a CK pickup truck like me, a new Caprice and an old B body! I used to have an 88 9C1, an 89...

Re: Future of Caprice PPV?
The last thing I forgot to say is that I was on a police car selection committee for two years while our agency waited for the new gen police vehicles to get some time in service after their release or redesign. After the Crown Vic was discontinued, the dept stopped purchasing cars for patrol and fu...

Re: Future of Caprice PPV?
I read in Police Fleet Manager magazine that GM/Fleet and commercial was quoted at a recent fleet management national conference that the Impala (Limited) 9C1 will continue production alongside the new body Impala due to substantial fleet demand from police and rental customers till 2016 MY. They ha...

Hello from Texas
Hello, I recently found this forum a few months ago and decided to join after reading so much useful information on a car that is widely misunderstood by the general car community and even some GM dealers alike. I even saw that at least one member here lives right around the corner from me and has a...
