The first thing I did after getting my Caprice ppv (two weeks ago) was to get the service manual in an online format. I have the Mitchell 1(eautorepair.net) which is similar to alldatadiy.com but alittle easier to navigate. Very helpful for troubleshooting.

No it needs to be connected to a 100 watt siren driver which is part of police "unitrols" which is what activates light and siren. Just putting 12vdc to the speaker will just make a popping noise and is a way to tell if the speaker is good or bad.

Maybe throw a fresh coin type CR2032 in the key fob never hurts to try. A low battery in the fob could certainly lower your range.

Just got a new 2014 PPV with 1200 miles. Oh yes that V6 has amazing performance. I'm just getting used to it and am getting 22-23 mpg. V6 will redline to 7000 RPM opposed to the V8 6200rpm. It is no sloutch and does put out alittle more than 300 bhp.
