Re: Budget OEM Exhaust Upgrades
BIG GREEK, are you still running AFM? yes I do still have AFM, and I hate it. Unfortunately I dont want to mess with the computer/cam yet due to the warranty and all of the issues I run into at the dealer. Like stated above, I have the complete system from the manifolds-back. Is the droning THAT mu...

Re: LS3 OEM camshaft works with DOD!!
I'd be interested in your tips/tricks, as I plan to do this mod sometime in the near future. I was thinking of an LS3 cam, or something along the lines of the Little Lunati LL cam. There were some good instructional threads on the G8 boards, but they're getting old and a lot of the pictures are miss...

Re: 2014 Kooks LT + Chevy SS mufflers = IT WORKS
How did you make the mid-pipes fit the extra wheelbase of our car? Did you use Caprice specific mid-pipes or weld in some extra straightpipe somewhere? From reading your original post, it looks like you just ordered a complete kit for an SS, and everything bolted right up, but I can't see how that'...

Re: Stock mufflers wanted
Not certain what Eric didn't have that you need, but I also have a set of stock 2011 mufflers that I pulled off to do the SS axle backs. I'm sure we could work out a deal.

Re: Rear spring replacement tips?
Mine just turned 17k non-duty miles this weekend. All the rubber stuff, bushings, etc were in great shape. I ordered new fasteners for the knuckle and strut bolts just because mine were rusty, but other than that, reused all the factory stuff. Only real issue I had was one of the front upper strut m...

Re: Rear spring replacement tips?
I finished the rear spring and shock swap on Sunday morning. It took 3 hrs from putting the car on the lift to taking it back down. The only air tools I used was an air gun to get the lug nuts off. I did have the luxury of access to a nice floor mounted spring compressor to do the actual spring swap...

Re: Rear spring replacement tips?
Heh, 'base hobby shop', I remember those!! My Dad used to take me to the one near Vandenberg when he was working on the Studebaker he was replacing a broken rear spring on (the reason he got it so cheap). Those were such great places. The one here at Cherry Point is great. Lots of tools, a bunch of...

Re: Which year makes the most sense?
If you can find a 9C3 of any year in good shape, your decision will be made for you. 9C3s are too rare to be picky over what year you buy. I looked for several months for a nice, low miles 9C3. I ended up deciding it made a lot more sense to buy a super-low miles 9C1 and convert it to my liking. I p...
