Irridium Spark Plugs

Post by bluethunder »

My car has 45K miles and was wondering while I have it apart if I should change them out. They look pretty good and assume they may last along time. They run about $6.00 each and was wondering if anyone has a valid opinion on them. Thanks

Usually fine for 100k Miles, but at 6 bucks a piece and super easy access kind of hard to resist popin new ones in there. Up to you.

Had a drop in mileage in our 80k mile ‘10 Tahoe PPV. Not knowing what else to do, I did the ‘standard’ tune up: plugs, wires, air filter, clean the MAF, etc. It made ZERO difference in anything but adding lightness to my wallet.

IMHO, don’t worry about it unless you’re chasing some issue. But that’s just me.

Thanks for the info. $50.00 for plugs is a little steep, we'll see
