There are archives that cover a wide range of subjects, some which may be found useful.

There seems to be full access to this resource, so exploit it while it's there--stuff this far inside rarely lasts for long as "free", so check it out--better yet, download it and keep it for posterity!

...rather consistently and is embarrassing when backing out of the garage in a new car, hearing the brakes sound like a cat is being scalded. I may consider this simple fix. Seems like a strange suggestion but I'm willing to try it.

Tom, that article/bulletin, as written, is applicable to Brembo fixed-caliper brake systems. Not saying there isn't value in trying to do some lubrication application in a similar manner, but I would not expect the simple addition of lubricant to eliminate the noise with the OE PPV pads.

Ours does too. Almost every time I back out of the garage. I don't get that when I back into the parking spot at work, though. Never. Please post up your outcome to this issue. I do plan to go to CTS brakes, but it may be a while.

Actually, a thick coating of "Disc Brake Quiet" (made by CRC in a red spray can) solves it. When I do a brake job, I apply it to the back plates of all brake pads before assembly. I was just a little miffed that my brand new car at the time (and still fairly new with only 6500 miles at this point, lol) needed this.

I've never had to use that stuff, but do know of people who use it all the time. It can make a mess, so I try to keep things clean and dry, whenever possible. I may not worry about it until I see what the new brakes do, since it's just me and my wife who hear it when the car gets used.
