Thanks for the comment. Agreed, the 2.92 is a very nice unit, but I have to say that my car feels "lighter" and more energetic when I get on it with the 3.27. Driving on the freeway is still a pleasant experience as the RPM's are still pretty relaxed at speed. And, like you said, the beefier 3.27 diff also provides some peace of mind when considering that I'll be putting down over 500 hp to the wheels...Hopefully :D . I'll be dyno tuning it as soon as I can schedule it with my tuner. I'll post up the results when I have them.

When you bought this did you specify it was from a V8 camaro donor? I still can't get a confirmation if the v6 and v8 cars that have a LSD 3:27 are using the same unit or not?

I crawled under the car and snapped this pic.

Just from a bit of research, it looks like the V6 cars may be using the same diff. This link may help shed some light on it.

Dyno numbers are in. She made 451 hp/ 442 Torque to the wheels on a mustang dyno. She spiked at 483.3, but I don't know if I can count that since the rest of the runs were in the 440's and 450's. This is through stock ZL1 exhaust will all four cats intact and in place on 91 octane pump gas. Jesse over at FNP tuned in Woods Cross, Utah is awesome. He even tuned it for ethanol if I ever want to fill up the tank with it and enjoy 20-30 extra horsepower. Time to start looking into headers and maybe pullies. Anyone have any suggestions for headers that cost less than $1,000?

i think it was JBA for the chevy SS sedan , are about the only ones i know in the 4-600 range , and fit with our engine oil cooler

one reason the kooks and arh are spendy is they replace the whole mid section of the exhaust also , their headers i think are in the 800ish range by themselves

those are decent numbers for not being able to breathe freely through the exhaust !

Thanks for the lead. I'll start researching them. Here is a youtube link to one of the dyno pulls. These are peak numbers that showed up before smoothing, so they're just a bit higher than the official result...enjoy

IF you go header, I might be interested in the manifolds you take off. Thanks.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if I make the switch this year. My summer is getting to close to being over and I'm fully engaged in my LS2 BMW build https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions- ... -swap.html so I may not get to upgrading the caprice this year. But who knows? I really wanted to see 500 hp on the dyno.

Now, as far as the crank pulley, was it anything crazy or was it a straight swap from an LSA car? Ive heard they are a bear.
