Spectrum Cold Air intake & LS Fuel Rail Cover

Post by tedwards0633 »

I have started my next project on my 2012 PPV of getting rid of the bulky stock air intake system along with some engine dressing. I am going with the Spectrum Intake System which I found for $124 on eBay, adding some LS2 Fuel Rail Covers and painting the Intake Manifold Beauty Cover. I have the pictures the build below.

Some of the personal touches I added was painting the Intake Manifold Beauty Cover with Red VHT Engine Enamel and I painted the LS2 Fuel Rail Cover White VHT Engine Enamel. I had to make a few cuts towards the front of covers, I also will sand the cuts in the summer for a better look. All in all The Spectrum Intake sounds good and the covers look great to me. I have the cost break down below.

Spectrum Cold Air Intake: $129.95
LS2 Fuel Rail Covers: $146.73
Fuel Rail Engine Studs: $25.00
VHT Engine Enamel x2: $11.75
Total: $309.43

Looks great!

Did you use the cold air filter setup for the Pontiac G8? Or do they make one for the Caprice...

Yup, I think you can search the G8 or GTO.

Nice, I was eyeballing that intake as well actually... Nice to see a PPV with it to confirm my fitment concerns.

Looks great.

Yea no issues with fitting, just have to make sure it is on there tight. Mine has come loose before, but I am going to add some threatlock on the clamp screws. I also plan to add the Roto-Fab radiator cover this summer to cover the open space.

I have added a Roto-Fab radiator cover and a chrome power steering reservoir cover.

I know this is an old post, but by any chance do you have the eBay link for the Spectrum CAI for the G8/GTO/PPV? I can't seem to find it on eBay... thanks!
