We get 1 not ready flag. Two and you fail inspection. Clearing the P0157 seems to reset the evap and O2 sensors, so you enjoy two sensors in a not-ready state.

Yeah, I was going to leave the ABS stuff alone, since the ABS and stabilitrack lights are off.

This car is really starting to piss me off! Took it out to run an errand yesterday. Drove it about 40 miles. I was within 1/4 mile of the house, sitting at a light, and the check engine light came on AGAIN!! Got the car home, and checked the codes: P0430.

I'm about ready to park this thing at the end of my driveway with a 'free to a good home' sign on the windshield.

New O2 sensor and CAT. When I was chasing the P0157 issue, I did pull the O2 extender out of the mix, so will probably install that. I have been hearing an exhaust leak, so the piece of flashing I used may not be a permanent solution. If the rains ever stop, I'll get the car back out in the shop and back on jackstands, pull the cat out and try to fab up some sort of total solution to the exhaust leak.

I can be there in about 45 minutes to pick it up. My neighbors would appreciate another Caprice sitting on my driveway :D

Will the new scanner you picked up graph individual sensors. It would be interesting to see how it looks compared to the other side.

Be careful what you ask for there, David.

Yeah, the new scanner has a ‘dash’ feature, as does the other one, which is what I was using to chase the P0157. Since i’m Already hearing a leak, i’ll Pull that right cat and come up with a more robust connection between the end of the cat and the head pipe.

Ordered a Kooks female ball socket. After fitting things up today, we cut most of the pipe off the socket pipe assembly. We, and I mean we, cut the extension pipe back a bit to make up for the extra inch, or so the ball socket added to the exhaust system. Everything is now bolted up and ready to fire the car up. I didn’t have the keys with me today, and wasn’t about to go back out and test. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.

Jeez, what a journey!!

OTOH, we got some range time to test our new .22 LR AR 15 build as well as some updates to the AR-45. So good day overall.

Got to start the car yesterday and check. Much quieter exhaust. I do still have a slight leak somewhere around the new joint. I let it heat up and tightened the bolts a bit. I'll go do the same to a cold system this afternoon.
