And I know they're not long tubes, but they'll do for now. I got a pretty good deal on the shorties new, and have a line on a good deal on the cats. Look how choked down the factory cats are. Opening that up along has got to make it quite a bit better. I'll do it a step at a time.

I see where you already have purchased the headers (JBA), just wondering if you had checked out this option:

Kooks headers and cats for $826 with free shipping, of course I don't know if these will fit the PPV but they are for the G8.

It was a toss-up, as I wanted ceramic coated headers and those aren't. When you add the coating to the Kooks, it's a couple hundred more than I'll be paying for the JBA and Solo cats. I kinda wish I had spent the extra few hundred, but then again I could do that regarding every upgrade. I have to keep reminding myself to stay on track! Thank you though.

Thanks for sharing that info. I plan to do a similar set up as I am on a budget also. What you described will certainly help out. My car is not a all out race car and pretty sure it will pick up some power over the stock set-up as well.

Did you ever look at the outlet side on those JBA headers? I finally found the sizing on the stock manifolds and I have a set of the camaro LS3 downpipes attached to mine, trying to figure out where/if i have any mismatch or can improve on it without spending $1k for headers or cat pipes?
