I spoke with solo about 10 days ago. PPV kit ready to ship.

I'm ready to pull trigger on it and a intake as soon as my local dyno shop confirms that they can tune car properly for added flow and and also disable the DOD/AFM. Screw 1-2 mpg I want the car to sound like a V8 all the time

Hopefully by June car will be done

I got an email today from Jeff with same info as above. Yes they are good to go. I'm calling today to order.

$448 includes shipping.

After getting clearance from Fleet, I put the axle backs on the patrol unit today "for testing". I bought these parts with my own money obviously so im taking a little risk in the case that the car is damaged, the city's insurance does not cover any of the officer's personal property. I still want to get my own Caprice to the race track for a baseline in pure stock form but I only have 1,100 miles on it so I need a few more first. I also put the SS Roto-fab intake on the patrol for testing. With both the intake and axle backs, the patrol car feels just as quick if not quicker than the POV which weighs 650 lbs less than the patrol car does. Makes a lot of noise at WOT.

Nice deep throaty sound, tips look great and the public is really noticing the car in a positive way.

Public: "Yeah, that's why civilians can't buy these from Chevy, they have a hotter engine than the normal cars! Did you hear that thing?!?"

Police officer assigned to the car: "Man, this thing sounds great, but the gas mileage just sucks! I guess it's 'cause I got my foot in it all the time."

Wow must be nice to have that kind of latitude within dept....make upgrades to your patrol rig. Bet you can even choose or mod your sidearm or long gun. Not a chance for any of that within my dept.

Got to love Texas.

Well just ordered my Solo exhaust and Vararam Intake for my peronsal PPV......parts should be here this week. next Weds it goes to the shop for install and dyno tuning.

Standby for update on result

You got it. We are allowed to pick our side arm long guns and make mods to them (with armorer approval). Not all departments are like that in Texas but it helps working for a medium sized agency that does not have all of the bureaucracy of a larger agency.

Keep us updated on your tune. Full exhaust/headers is my next step on the POV so I'm really interested in your results. Have you ever raced your car at the local 1/4 drag?

Yeah, the pros of a smaller agency. State Agency has no latitude for individualism So you carry and drive as told

Car was new last fall so only mods have been cosmetic and comfort until now

I may take car up to strip in Montreal later in summer.....it's a full 1/4 mile strip. Used to run my 68 GTO there......fun time

I will see what these changes yield power wise. Next would be cam lifters and possibly headers.

Don't want to loose any reliability so not sure if I will do more

Tuner says he can eliminate DOD, add HP and firm up shift points. They just did awesome job on my Harley so we will see how this goes

We will see

Here some pics. When I install them on my car, I may move the tips further out but I don't trust the clamps when doing that so Ill probably weld them on at that point.
