I had my headers powder coated, before I installed them, almost two years ago. I'm running the original Kooks headers for the G8's. That required me to lose the oil cooler. Anyway, they still look like new, lower underhood temps, works for me! 8-)

I never put uncoated headers on any of my stuff, stainless or not. I always coat them. YMMV

Last Question: What are some thoughts on JET Ceramic Coatings on headers?
The PPV Pipes are about 6 inches longer I think - the difference in the back seat leg room between the Caprice PPV and the SS. Same thing with the Axle Back system from Solo - They will extend the pipes for the PPV over there G8 pipes.

Ceramic Coatings are great, I just didn't want to wait to get mine coated.

Okay, so headers themselves interchange between the SS and PPV. Thanks.

Yes, both the 6.0 and 6.2 have the same exhaust port design and both the PPV and the SS have the oil cooler which the GTO did not.

I forgot to ask about ground clearance with the Kooks headers. The roads where I live are pretty bad. Do the pipes/cats hang below the sub-frame?

-Thanks

The Kooks system is tucked up very tight. It does not hang down.

Tech,

Bringing this back up, because I'm interested, for when I actually end up with a PPV. Did you successfully get the CEL issue straightened out? Thanks.

Has anyone installed American Racing Headers on the Caprice? I remember looking at their website last year and it actually advertised on the website that their Pontiac G8 GT header fit the Caprice PPV with removal of the oil cooler. I checked the site again today as a result of this thread popping up and it no longer shows the PPV on the website anywhere. They do however now show headers for the 2014 SS but only as part of a complete or partial exhaust system it appears. I'm thinking the headers would bolt up no problem after reading here that the LS3/L77 oil pan and cooler set up is the same between the Caprice and the SS.

I recently installed AR headers on a 2013 Camaro 1LE and I must say, I was very impressed with the quality and how amazingly easy the install was. So far my best experience with headers on any vehicle.

The entire exhaust system as now been replaced. I have the Kooks 1 3/4" x 3" Stainless Steel Longtube Headers (That keep the oil cooler intact) and the Kooks 3"x 2 1/2" x OEM Stainless Steel Catted X-Pipe that connects to the OEM connection point for the Axle-Back system.
And here is a short Video so you can hear what it sounds like:

This. Excellent. Do you know if the Kooks Green LTH are available in a way that will fit our PPV, so that I can keep the CEL off without having a tune?
