Just curious if this ever went any farther with the Caprice since it's been a few months since this thread has been updated...

SW has no serious plans to make this system. I got the pieces and made it fit. It was expensive but it sounds incredible. I bought their SS headers and the axle back portion of the SS exhaust. I had an exhaust shop fab up the difference out of stainless 3" mandrel bent tube, plus an X pipe. It all fits except that the tail pipes need to be extended and the O2 sensor extensions are not compatible. Be ready to spend some coin on this one.

I'm guessing your better off buying an X-Force exhaust from Austrailia!

If they make the SS headers (not caprice), and i dont mind cutting the end of the LTH and having them welding to my pipes, then these would work in that sense, and not require the cooler delete, correct? loved my SW headers on other cars

No modifications are necessary. I wouldn't cut anything on a $1750 set of headers.

Perhaps with some short lengths of 3" pipe, one could put together an exhaust system, header to tailpipe, using SW parts. The exhaust needs to be lengthened in two places, after the X-pipe and after the axle. After I get done with our race car project, I may order the kit, and some 3" T-304 and see what I can do. I hope I'm not selling the system to someone.

If you read my post above you'll see I've already done this. The problem with just using some "short lengths" of pipe is that you're not taking the X-pipe or mandrel bending into consideration. If you plan on spending $1750 for headers and another $750 for the axel back pieces (If SW will even sell them to you; I'm pretty sure they sold it to me to get me to stop calling them every day for 2 weeks. I was told they would normally not do this.) then you better be ready to put this together the right way. All stainless, all mandrel bent with an X-pipe right after the trans. I absolutely love the sound of my car and I get compliments constantly, but like I said before, be ready to spend some serious coin on this.

I was planning on getting the entire SS exhaust system, and using short lengths of straight pipes to make up the difference where it's needed. So yes, I'll be using the SW X-pipe,mand probably everything else.

Right on. I guess I was just still thinking about calling them and hearing about how the SS system wouldn't fit. Let us know how your project goes.

Oh I definitely will. I PM'ed Chris @ SW, and he indicated that while he didn't have exact measurements (annoying), he said that there were two places where the Caprice was longer than the SS, and that was in the rear passenger area, and behind the axle. So, I'm hoping I can just add some 3" pipe in the straight lengths behind the X-pipe, and either where the straight pieces pass by the pumpkin, or just before the mufflers. We'll see.
