That's probably because they don't have any left in stock. Kook's does make a header that fits the PPV, and keeps the oil cooler. However, if you can stand not having the cooler, like me, that's a killer price for them!

Kook's headers are absolutely top-notch quality. My G8 headers were powder coated before I put them on, and they still look brand new, after more than two years on the car.

I haven't had any issues not having the oil cooler. Of course, when I started modding my PPV, there weren't any other options. Pretty much still that way.

My one off blower setup though, never fails to put a smile on my face!! 8-)

Yeah, I know they fit with the removal of the cooler, but was wanting something more plug and play. I have yet to see what the lines and routing is, other than pictures online. Hopefully they won't be as leak-prone later in life as the 94-96 B-body coolers.

Gene, the oil cooler is mounted on the engine--oil pan near filter--it is liquid to liquid, using coolant piped to the cooler. No leak issues like the 94-96 9C1.

Kooks has a revised header for the driver's side that clears the factory cooler for PPV/SS (not sure it ever applied to G8 GXP/LS3). G8 GT didn't use a cooler, so the headers only became an issue when PPV and then SS sedan came along....Kooks didn't respond until the SS was available, which is why Bob had to delete the cooler to use headers several years back for his project.

Bill, yep. That's the standard location for coolers and such for the LS* engine. That may be where we plumb the Accusump on our Firebird autocross car. It's where we had our first oil leak on our 2010 Tahoe PPV. Thanks for the update that it may not leak oil with time. I wonder if it will be a pain point for water in the oil down the road? Maybe it WOULD be best to replace it with something like the Tahoe oil cooler, or a Setrab-like unit and AN hoses?

I would much rather the cooler my Tahoe had as it looked much more efficient than the sandwich style on the Caprice.

Yes, indeed. Holden bought up all of Mazda's 1st Gen RX7 coolers to use on the Caprice.

I would prefer the Tahoe PPV cooler. I bet it even takes up less room back there.
