Has anyone done a 4L80 conversion on a PPV to date? I am in the process of doing it right now. Just have some questions on driveshaft if anyone has.

It's a much stronger transmission, you can have a transbrake, the tuning is probably easier (I stay away from only the most basic 6L80 tuning), a lot of high powered don't need the crazy-low first gear ratio of the 6L80, and they're cheaper.

I know plenty of G8 guys and SS guys have done it. Did you have to beat the tunnel or make any other permanent mods to make it fit?

I haven’t gotten to fitting it in the car yet. The block is at the machine shop right now. When I get it back and together it will be going in. Looks like the drivers side tunnel might need to be dented a little for electrical plugs. Oh and the reason I am doing the 4L80 conversion is because they are much stronger much cheaper to build handle more power. I blew my 6L80 and to have one built is close to $5,000 for the rwhp I will have. I had a 4L80 with a fresh rebuild and shift kit and 3,500 stall. Only other mod I know of will be my driveshaft going to make it a one piece.

How much power were you putting out that took out the 6L80?
