Speedometer calibration

Post by Badnacho »

After doing some research I can not seem to find a clear answer, so I figured I’d ask.

I just installed a 3.27 diff and the speedo is off. I know the ideal solution is to have the trans tuned with HP tuners. This would program shift points and the speedo could be adjusted. As of right now, I cannot pursue that due to lack of time. I will most likely have a tune done in a few months. In the meantime, is there a way to program the trans with an Autel or similar scan tool. I could not find a straight answer here and ventured onto the G8 and other GM forums. It appears there would need to be some special code in order to program the trans even with the GM scanner. Can anyone confirm or deny that HPtuners is the only way?

Thanks!
