Here are some pics to hopefully make it a little more clear. Note that the second pic is for a 2011 Camaro. Part numbers for the prop shaft to coupler bolts and nuts did not show up for the Caprice. The parts guy said that you would need to buy the entire prop shaft assembly to get the nuts and bolts. I'm guessing that the Camaro parts (Nos. 8, 6, and 5) will work on a Caprice. Does anyone know for sure or have torque specs for them?

Kevin, I went to Rock Auto and did some searching....found that there are several flex joints listed, as shown below. In each case, the accompanying photo displays the connector and 3 bolts & nuts. So, I would conclude that the parts guy did not find the right info regarding these parts, as it's pretty clear they are available separately (as a kit).

Zeta sedans and all Holden-built cars with 5.7/6.0 or 6.2 use the same flex joint (auto or manual trans)
Buyer's Guide : ACDELCO 92267163 Drive Shaft Flex Joint
CHEVROLET CAPRICE 2011-2017
CHEVROLET SS 2014-2017
PONTIAC G8 2008-2009
PONTIAC GTO 2005-2006

GMPD listing for 92267163 shows that it replaces another PN - https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts ... t-92267163

Buyer's Guide : ACDELCO 92228328 Drive Shaft Flex Joint
CHEVROLET CAMARO 2010-2015 (Auto trans)

Buyer's Guide : ACDELCO 92249108 Drive Shaft Flex Joint
CHEVROLET CAMARO 2010-2015 (Manual trans)

I would not necessarily conclude that there is a reason to use the Camaro flex joint/coupling with the sedan prop shaft, but a side-by-side comparison might show that it's possible.

No details are provided regarding the bolts in the kit, and since they are included in the kit--and assuming GM is sole-source--the fasteners or specs may not be made known. They look just like the fasteners (bolt & nut) that are available as service parts for the front flange, PN 92139225 - bolt specs are M12x1.5x62 and the nut is a one-use locking nut, 92228333

A summary of parts needed to service a SEDAN driveshaft:

Connector - 92267163 (2) kit includes 3 bolts/3 nuts

Bolt - 92139225 (3) for front coupler to transmission flange

Nut - 92228333 (3) use with bolt 92139225

Bolt - 92139104 (3) for rear coupler to differential flange (no nuts - thread direct into flange)

Kevink, the coupler for caprice #7 92267163 clearly states includes 6 and 8 nuts and bolts. According to EPC

Bill and 119C3NJ- I am not looking for a coupler. I am looking for the prop shaft to coupler BOLTS and NUTS. There are 6 total on every car and those part numbers were not given in the GM system for the Caprice. The bolts and nuts were shown, but there were no part numbers. These bolts are definitely different (go look under your car) than the bolts that secure the rear coupler to the diff flange and the bolts and nuts that secure the front coupler to the trans flange.

Kevin, I can only conclude that as far as "service parts", GM does not identify or supply the specific bolts you are asking about separately--only in the replacement connector kit.

The pictures at Rock Auto show the bolts, but do not provide the dimensions.

The 2 bolts listed - 92139104 & 92139225, are the same thread, just different lengths.

When you say the bolts you are asking about are "different" what exactly do you mean? Are they Torx head or something other than hex? If the parts included with the coupler service kit are an indication, the replacement bolts are hex-head.

The 92139104 bolt is 55mm, and the longer bolt is 62mm. Have you measured the bolt length you are asking about to see if it is the same as either of the available bolts? Since a nut is used, I suspect that the longer bolt, 92139225 would work, unless I'm missing something.

The connector in the service kit is bolted to the prop shaft with the 3 bolts shown/included - this may be a generic picture, so it's entirely possible the bolts in the service kit ARE different.

Guys this whole discussion seems to have gone off the rail and is now just about "Deez Nutz" why not take the ones you have to a good hardware place like Sears hardware(     ) or a fastenal shop and be done wit it?

I'm sticking with the OEM fasteners for this component R&R

Well we just finished the 3.45 diff swap today, everything went off with really no hitches. But I had a couple concerns, first off it seemed to take more oil than stated under the capacities for a 2015 Camaro SS. It actually took 1 and a quarter bottles of the GM synthetic oil plus the small bottle of GM limited slip additIve. It should have only taken the one bottle plus the additive. The second concern was upon taking it for the test drive even though I haven't told the computer about it's new rear end I noticed the traction control option would not activate but the sport mode did function. Could this just be due to the computer is confused about the unmatched speed to engine RPMs or the gear it needs to be in for the prior gear ratio ?
I could just go ahead and do the data logging and send it over to Black Bear for the correct tune and a few other changes I need them to make then see if the traction control will disable on demand.?

Just to update:

I ended up getting 92139104 coupler to diff bolts in the photo above. These were almost identical to the original Caprice bolts. They have a slightly longer shoulder, but it doesn't matter.

I also got Camaro 92228335, 92228334, and 92228333 prop shaft to coupler bolts, nuts, and washers. These differ from the original Caprice hardware that can no longer be purchased (at least my dealer could not find part numbers for them). The Camaro bolts are torx instead of hex head, have a slightly longer shoulder, and are 12x1.25 instead of the original Caprice bolts that are 12x1.75, which is fine by me.
