Re: tapshift in 9c1?
yes the 9c3 shifter and console are identical to the g8s. I dont want the shifter so much for actual driving but more for putting it in the right gear for roll racing......oh and making extra noise when comming to stops.

Re: tapshift in 9c1?
so tried to play with the shifter today. no luck. the schematics and pin outs i pulled from alldata were very goofy and didnt match my car at all. i guess they just showed 9c3 stuff.. maybe ill try again later.

Re: tapshift in 9c1?
No, I haven't switched it over yet. I still need the 9c1 schematic and compare it with the 9c3 schematic. I'm going to try and repin the harness to match up with the 9C3 shifter. I don't really care if the manual mode is functional or not. As long as I can put it in sport mode I'll be good.

Re: tapshift in 9c1?
in order to get it to work youll have to repin the shifter connector and the bcm but without the 9c1 schematics i couldnt find out where without checking every pin on the bcm. if you dont care about manual mode then it will be alot easier. the sport mode and stabilitrack button are just momentary shorts to ground. im getting it tuned this week im going to see if the parameters for the lift foot mode can be changed and basicly keep that one whenever its in sport mode.

I have the 2011 PPV FSM. I'll see if I can find the appropriate pins in the schematics. No promises though as I am very busy...

Re: tapshift in 9c1?
I've got the Helm as well and I just pulled the shifter electrical pin-out. Greasy, PM me your email address you want this sent to and I'll get you a PDF of the pin-out. The Helm actually listed only one electrical configuration which I'm strongly suspecting is the 9C1, but you'll have to look at it. I'd fail the book from a QA perspective if there is an electrical difference between the two shifters (which we know there is...).
Thanks
Eric

Re: tapshift in 9c1?
Thanks Eric. I've been very busy at work and at home. I had to recharge the A/C in my '95 Caprice 9C1 and replace the primary fan motor. I also bought a '95 Caprice Wagon last week that needs some work. Too many cars now... LOLelc32955 wrote:I've got the Helm as well and I just pulled the shifter electrical pin-out. Yes I have the Helm manuals for $200. When I own a car, I also own the FSM. It's a must-have. The $200 actually becomes priceless for the amount of information in the book. I also know that over the years, they tend to add supplements and revisions. So it's possible they may issue a supplement if there are too many errors in the original manual (the B-Bodies were that way -- there was actually a fairly large 3rd book made just to correct the errors).

Re: tapshift in 9c1?
Eric,
Since you have the Helms, can you send me the pin-out information for the radio, and for the license plate light wiring harness?
Thanks!
