Post by johnpz2721 »

My 2012 has 103K on the clock on the highway i hear howling like bad wheel bearings is this common ? Also my ABS light - Stabiltrac - Traction control light is on as well
should i replace all 4 bearings and Rear ABS sensors ?? are aftermarket parts OK ? GM parts are super expensive for this Issue ??

Although I haven't experienced it in this car, on GM trucks, it's very common for the ABS to be affected by a bad wheel hub bearing. To know for sure which one, you should pull the ABS codes but that would require either a higher end scanner or possibly an ELM327 and the Car Gauge Pro app on Android. I can't confirm if CGP can get ABS codes as I haven't tried it on the Caprice yet but does work on trucks.

As for the aftermarket part question, and I'm not sure how their reputation is now, but back with my f-bodies I regularly would use Timken wheel hub/bearing assemblies if a car needed one. I had a good amount of success using them, FWIW.

I had the same issue. Used a snap on reader so it told me what side was the issue. Even though I could hear it and identify which side it was just by paying close attention. I bought the driver side bearing 125.25 at my local stealership and the abs sensor 22.10 and problem solved.

Part numbers
92277024 bearing
92286749 sensor

Run a search and I'm sure you'll find them cheaper.

Is the bearing pressed on or can I slide it out
Thanks
