sort of a thread revival, but could caddy ats calipers be used? four piston brembos that apparently use the same pad as the ctsv calipers. and theyre really cheap on amazon

although these are made in the czech republic and not italy, not sure if that really matters...

I don't know. There are maybe a hundred caliper applications that use the same pad. SO many variables: caliper mounting points, stand off away from spindle center line, offset inboard/outboard, rotor thickness....Brembo rebuild kits are available.

This is the rotor shown as used on ATS with Brembo brakes:
http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 40&jsn=407" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's OD is 321mm, vs CTS-V rotors at 355mm (option is 370mm), and ATS BC (bolt circle) is 115mm. Note that G8 GT front rotor was also 321mm, but it used a 2-piston aluminum PBR caliper.

It is VERY unlikely the ATS calipers will be of any use on the PPV, which uses a 345mm rotor and a larger hub stud BC.

ATS-V may be another story....no info on diameter, however.
Front: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 91&jsn=485" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Rear: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 91&jsn=484" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (shown as common part with 2016 Camaro, so ATS-V uses 120mm BC)

PPV, with 345mm front rotor, makes that size common with Alpha Camaro SS and C7 Corvette base, so it might be useful to look at both for possible direct fit of Brembo calipers on the PPV stock rotor.

C7 Brakes: (4.75/120.65 BC)

Rotor diameter (in / mm):
front: 12.6 / 320 (13.6 / 345 with Z51)
rear: 13.3 / 338

Rotor thickness (in / mm):
front: 1.18 / 30 (including Z51)
rear: 0.90 / 23

Gen 6 Camaro Brakes: (120.0 BC)
http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showpost. ... ostcount=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"The Brembo four-piston, two-piece aluminium calipers are designed specifically for weight savings and are among the stiffest available with virtually no distortion from high thermal and torque loads, even under the most demanding conditions. Brembo’s corrosion-resistant calipers in anodized aluminium offer reduced weight over traditional calipers.

On the Camaro LT, the available Brembo brakes include 12.6-inch (321x30mm) front rotors with four-piston aluminium calipers. Camaro SS employs 13.6-inch (345x30 mm) front rotors with four-piston aluminium calipers and 13.3-inch (339x26 mm) rear rotors with four-piston calipers."

Gen 6 Camaro SS Brembo front caliper:
$188 at GM Parts Direct http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oe-gm/23399519" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (left side)
$250 each at Amazon https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-172-2723 ... o+172-2723" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
$190 at Rock Auto http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 4&jsn=1034" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Camaro rotor is the correct diameter, thickness and BC to match PPV, but we don't know total rotor height (how tall is the hat), nor do we know rotor offset, or if the caliper mounting lugs on the Alpha chassis are the same as used on Zeta. The caliper could be OK to use, but without an actual fit check, it's impossible to say.

My take: Even if they will fit, there's no value in just adding Brembo calipers to the PPV without also going to the larger & thicker 355mm front rotors. The rotor mass must be greater (than stock at 345mm) to get the most out of the better caliper.

I've been reviewing this thread, getting ready to do the upgrade on our Caprice. I have a set of front and rear calipers off a '06 CTS-V. In my hand, they look a lot like the ones pictured above, but look a LOT bigger. IIRC, the fronts are still 4-piston, but are they really the same? I can take pictures, if necessary, I just don't want to get half-way into this project and discover I'm not going to be able to finish.

Gene, there's nothing to fear....the one thing you really need to understand is that wheel clearance is affected. Maurice has shown that OE steel wheels do clear these brakes, but many/most OE 18" alloy wheels are questionable, at best.

For your rear V calipers, just realize that the plumbing needs to be swapped end-to-end to provide proper orientation (bleeders facing up) while maintaining caliper pistons in proper position--smaller piston leading.

You also need to decide whether you are going to use 12mm or 14mm mounting bolts for the front calipers. The PPV knuckles use 14mm bolts. In Maurice's case, we modified the calipers to use the larger bolts.

Bill, thank you for the reassurance. I'll be running the OEM steelies for now, and may switch over to factory SS wheels after I get them powder-coated black. The jury is still out on those, though. I did remember about swapping the crossover and bleeders, and am still on the fence about which way to go for the anchoring bolts.

I still need to order the rotors and hoses, but other than that, I could probably do this this week.

finally got around to swapping fronts and rears last weekend, thanks so much for this parts list.

i went with hawk hp+ pads up front, and wow this thing stops (it was throwing sparks when i was burnishing the pads, this normal?)
the limiting stopping factor is definitely my blizzaks right now lol

i decided to paint the calipers vht yellow, (sorta regretted it as soon as i started, painting calipers is harder than i thought, but it looks fine under the wheels) got some "high temp" brembo decals from amazon

Where can you find these CTS-V calipers the cheapest? Is everyone going through eBay?

Amazon is where I got mine. Rock Auto could be another source.

Which hose kit did you use?
