Fantastic thread! I'm going to add one piece of information I've gleaned from this site. Not sure why this specific information was not posted as well.. here you go! Wish I could thank the proper individuals. These are the rear 5th gen camaro Brembo caliper to Caprice PPV mounting bolt to use, proper size and grade. Installed!

I listed the thread pitch and diameter but not the length because I had already installed everything before making this thread. I just went to the hardware store, far cheaper and more convenient since my calipers were dangling off the car lol. Kind of went into it without much info other than they work and that’s why I made the thread.

Yes, the proper info on the bolt needed is there, but not a GM part number. I was able to find it and install them before I added the info. You did a great job laying it all out. As you say the info was everywhere, not in one thread complete. Using the GM bolt over the local hardware store just made me feel better. It being a grade 10.8 bolt, the same spec hardware removed. Reading the thread gave me the confidence to spend the $$$.

I'll add somewhere in the search for information on this this site I read where one individual reused the stock rear caliber bolt to mount the 5th gen camaro Brembo. Even commented on how he just cranked them in.. scary stuff..

Appreciate it. Now we just someone to make a thread about using the 16+ brembos with stock rotors and if there’s a rear rotor option that can work.

When you are speaking of 16+, I am assuming you're referring to the brakes on the 2016 & newer Camaro SS, with 345mm front rotors.

That thread already exists - just understand that it applies to front brakes only.
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2778

As to the rear, there are only 2 options - the production 324mm rotor, with single-piston caliper or the rotor & caliper from the 2015-2017 SS sedan - rotor is 360mm, and caliper is a Brembo 4-piston unit, which is an earlier generation (CTS-V, Gen5 Camaro SS) part compared to what is used on 16+ Camaro.

The 2016+ Camaro (Alpha chassis) uses a 339mm rear rotor & Brembo caliper. The Alpha chassis has rotor offset (hat height) dimensions that prevent their use on Zeta chassis, even though the front calipers can be cross-fitted to Zeta. The 16+ rear caliper won't work because there's no rotor made for Zeta sedans with that diameter, hat height/offset, or park brake sizing, to allow fitment of the later rear caliper, which cannot be used with the 324mm or 360mm rear rotors discussed above.

Some may consider it weird to use a 345mm front rotor & 360mm rear rotor. It would not be the first time larger diameter rotors are used on the rear of a vehicle....Gen5 (2010-2015) Camaro SS has 355 front/365 rear, and other platforms have done similar fitments. The 345mm PPV front rotor has greater mass than the 355mm front rotor, and the 10mm difference (5mm radially) is largely inconsequential as far as the brake torque produced.

Parts used:

2010-2015 camaro take off brembos, front camaro rotors and 2015+ Chevy ss rear rotors. I ordered pads without weights (seems to be common for camaros).

Stock fronts: single piston cast iron with 345mm x 30mm rotors
Brembos: 4 piston aluminum fixed caliper with 355mm x 32mm rotors

Stock rears: single piston Aluminum caliper with 325mm x 22mm rotors
Brembos: 4 piston aluminum fixed caliper with 360mm x 28mm rotor

Fronts are a direct bolt on. You have to use the brembo banjo bolts as they’re a different thread. I used the stock lines.

The rears required different thread pitch bolts (12mm x 1.5mm) and I reused the stock banjo bolt and line since the end is shallower than the brembo one. I just hacked off the flange of the dust shield and they fit.

Awesome write up! any chance you could provide part numbers for rotors or anything else?

Too many options out there to do that imo. Looking up the vehicles that were listed to get rotors allows people to choose within their budget and performance needs. 2010-2015 camaro ss front rotors and 2015-2017 ss sedan rear rotors.

Note; Brembo Calipers should be installed with the bleed fittings pointing up.
