Question about rear brakes to run 15a

Post by Skyhighsami »

I don't have a PPV yet because promised my kids we'd build a vehicle a piece for each of them. I've built on a 416ci LS2 Trailblazer SS I'm almost done with and s RCSB Chevy with a likely a F1A-94 and 388ci. So far I want a 14+ so the SS interior can go in an be really nice. I've I run CTS V or SS front brakes with like an 18x6 and brands for a 15" rear diameter wheel. 1 is a kit made to do it and 2 please don't tell me these see like GTO where there's no room for width. I have 11" and 325 on my Trailblazer and 11" with 315. But I know GM does, TBSS LS2 4L60E 4th Gen G bodies LS1 with T56 CTS V1 with a glass.IRS..I word love a built PPV with LSA or 2650.om a 416 or 427? Can 15 " rears be possible and a TVS2650 sneeze and make 1100-1200 is it possible to build the 6 speed, would you need an 80E or TH400

You don't even have the car yet and you're worried about putting a real tire on it... Your priorities are definitely in line. Yes, it's possible, but figure on spending about $4,000-$6,000 for everything to do it right. It's not cheap and it's a lot of work, but if you want the tire, you have no choice. It's definitely not a bolt on affair that you'll complete in a weekend. Many of the 15" "conversion" kit parts for the 5th gen Camaro will work on a PPV. I'm not sure if the aluminum spindles will bolt on, though. I recall something about the axles not being compatible with the Camaro spindles, but the details are unknown to me. You'll also want to do poly or delrin diff bushings, delrin upper control arm bushings, and solid cradle bushings. I have solid everything in my car except for the front diff bushings and lower trailing arm bushings which are poly. You'll need to figure out how to attach the sway bar to the BMR lower arms. You also need to buy expensive "modern" wheels because they're the only ones with a large enough barrel to clear the brakes. Wheels like Weld Draglites, Prostars, or steelies, even if they had the correct backspacing, won't work.

Before I buy a vehicle or consider a vehicle I like to learn as much about them as possible. I researched Trailblazer for probably 3 months before I bought one. I have a friend going to look at one for me first part of next week. If it checks out I will pick it up, and since it's LS it won't stay stock. Ideally I'd like to either do some TEA Stage 2.5 5.3 heads low 230 intake mid 230 exhaust with a Fast 102 or LS6 3200-3400 1LE diff and maybe a 100 shot. Had a similar setup on a LS1 in a T56 car with a 9" and 4.11 and it was 450ish on 346 I figure on 364 on spray it'd be 600 easy. Meanwhile assemble a forged LS3, work the L77 heads and LSA, BTR Stage 3 or 4 pullied way down E85 with meth and ZL1 gears and restall the converter to 2800 build the 6L80E and it should make 800 or a little more. But I won't start on that until after my 450whp NA Yukon my 600whp NA Trailblazer and my 1000-1200whp FI Silverado

for the extra work required to run a 15 inch wheel , there isnt much advantage compared to a 17 inch wheel and compare sized tire

there is plenty of SS's and G8's out there on 17's running 9's on 17's
