Well, it seems there's something wrong with the car, it's wearing out the back tires in 3 months.
The first set I did some road racing and 1 drag race with them.
So I thought that was the problem.
But I just put the stock wheels on in November and they are bald too.
Front tires are fine.
My son is a mechanic, he seems to think I have a rear alignment problem.
Anyone else having thins problem?

Re: tire wear problem
Barry, how much are you driving the car? How many miles did it take to do this?
Are you using a tire with low tread wear rating, by chance?

Re: tire wear problem
Over-inflated might cause the middle to wear out before the edges.
Re: tire wear problem
Is the tire wear toward the inside, or the outside of the wheel?
If it's on the inside of both, might have a little too much negative camber. If it's wearing to the outside, not enough camber...
Did you buy yours new or used? If it was last aligned and weighed more, or less, than it does now, that can also make a difference...
If one is wearing more on the inside and one on the outside, you definitely have an alignment issue...
I know that at least one 2011 had to have the rear suspension assembly (rear clip, if you will) replaced under warranty because of alignment issues that couldn't be fixed.

Re: tire wear problem
The car had 8,000 miles on it when I bought it in March.
It has 17,000 now.
So 9,000 between the 2 sets (the tires that came on it and the Continental Conti Sport 3s on the CTS wheels)
The car had an alignment before I bought it according to the Car Fax report.
The stock wheels were a little over inflated for maybe the last 1000 miles.
I had the dealership reset tire monitor because it keeps giving me a fault.
They just reset it but they put 49 lbs.
I didn't realize it till I got back from a trip to Michigan.
I'll have the dealership check it out and do an alignment.
I'll get a couple of snow tires for the Caprice wheels and a whole new set in the spring for the CTS wheels.
I'm willing to give up a little sportiness for a little bit more wear.

Re: tire wear problem
Barry, you know how I drive - the only reason I still have any tread is that Doll ("The Wife") won't allow me to turn off traction control.
Anyway I rotated the tires at 7,500 miles with some wear on the rears but not bad.
