Hello from Tampa FL !!

Post by Silversled »

New member here. I just picked up a 2014 Caprice PPV as a beater/project car. As I previously cross-shopped this with a Chevy SS, I'm familiar with the DNA of this car. I however decided to purchase the PPV and use the money left over for "go-fast" and "look-good parts".

First order of business are new tech manuals. Here they are:

I agree with the idea of being able to put the money saved from an "SS" price tag towards my mods. I got lucky and bought my 9C3 with 1,400 miles for less than $25,000. I've spent less than $6,000 on mods and I'm enjoying every minute of "MY" car. And what I didn't know, or have the resources to do, I had the help of others here on the forum.

Wise man you are for getting the FSM's FIRST!! Welcome, I'm across from the state from you in Rockledge. Chris Henry, a very good tuner/SS/Caprice/G8 mechanic is in Land O'Lakes just down the road from you.

Thanks Eric.

Unlike some who were able to get a PPV almost new, mine came with 55K miles, with dents, slightly banged up interior and other "minor" defect which require addressing. Also from the research I've done, the Chevy SS center console looks like it'll bolt right in and the column shifter might be easily converted back to the floor. All these things suggested I should get the manuals early.

The real reason for getting this car is I'm going to be getting serious about the HP Tuners course material sitting on my shelf from The Tuning School. This is going to my "fun" car where Cam, heads, trans, engine build, supercharger are not off limits. I've missed not having a car to mess around with and not have to worry about screwing up an $80K vehicle.

Cool. Our 'low mileage' Caprice was a 86k car. Enjoying every turn of the key. Let us know when you get some decent tunes.

It's amazing how colorful the 2014 FSMs are compared to other years.
