If you can direct the seller that you want to view a cold start. Meaning ask they they do not start or move the car that day till you get there. You will want to listen for a knocking. Then you will want to let it run for at least 20 minutes (this can include a test drive and let idle) then listen for knocking again. That is about the only thing that will indicate a problem the cam/DOD system. Other than that just give it a good test drive. Run the VIN through Google and see if you can see it;s sale history. Also check the VIN through

I you test drive and try a full throttle run and feel/hear a bit of transmission flare at shifts that is a normal condition with our factoty setups. A different transmission pan and filter solve that issue most times.

If the car was previously used as a patrol car pay attention to how it was de-contented and how carefully they removed stuff. Unless you are really good at electrical this could lead to substantial repairs to get things working again. If many things don;t work either walk away of take a big discount on the price.

Good Luck!!

Validate that it is a true 9C3 Detective car. A lot of dealers throw that description to boost the dollar amount compared to a 9C1.

Good luck,

Keep Searching, you can find some nice ones out there. But if you want low mileage, spend some more $ and get one with a warranty.
