Pretty Much New 2016 Caprice

Post by NewCapriceFan »

I'm so glad I found this forum! I'm picking up my Caprice today in CT. Has only 534 miles.

Awesome! I briefly looked at that one, but wanted the V8. Very low miles, wow. I am also in CT, lets get together. I got my 2014 last Thursday.

Howdy!

So? Where's the pics? Interested in hearing about the V6 flavour of this car. I'm sure it has decent performance but still has all the other upgrades.

Just got a new 2014 PPV with 1200 miles. Oh yes that V6 has amazing performance. I'm just getting used to it and am getting 22-23 mpg. V6 will redline to 7000 RPM opposed to the V8 6200rpm. It is no sloutch and does put out alittle more than 300 bhp.

Sorry, I didn't attach my message to the previous pic. The car is great! V6 is superfast.. I can't imagine driving the 6.0.. A couple of things to mention:

1) was given 6 extra keys (part of the 6E4 fleet key package on the build sheet the dealer gave me). Unfortunately, when I went to program them, they didn't turn in the ignition. Turns out they are cut differently, and have a different "GM" code on them. The dealer is checking into whether or not I can replace the blades with blanks on a couple of them, and get them cut to match my working keys.

2) was on the highway today when the dreaded "check engine" light came on. The car's only got 770 miles on it. Will be bringing it to the dealer for that, and no sound from the drivers door speaker.

Otherwise, no major problems so far.

What did the engine code end up being? Hopefully something minor and not an omen of things to come!

Actually, before I could bring it back to the dealer, someone I work with suggested I wipe the inside part of the gas cap with a clean cloth. I tried it, and the light's been off ever since. The dealer checked for any outstanding codes, which there were none. Still no further issues with that to date.
