another new 9C3 owner

Post by 56nomad »

I have already gotten good wheel info from this forum, but didn't want to jinx my prospective purchase by posting in the intro forum until I actually took possession. That happened yesterday, so I should be safe! I bought the silver 9C3 from City Chevrolet in Charlotte that l77 was apparently also looking at, unbeknownst to me. It has more miles on it than l77's red one (562 when I picked it up). I drove it over to Raleigh to visit family, and tomorrow I'm headed home to Baton Rouge. Thanks for this site, without it I doubt that I would have ever purchased a Caprice.

so you bought the car as "used"...had it ever been in police service?

Again--welcome!

Great to have another proud owner! FYI, some of us are talking about getting together in and around Dallas, TX on November 15th, 16th, 17th. Interested?

Welcome!

Bill - actually it was sold as new with a new car warranty. The dealer first told me he couldn't sell it to an individual, but after discussions with GM they apparently turned a blind eye.

Maurice - I will be otherwise engaged (daughter getting married). Thanks for the invite and keep me posted on future get togethers.

Welcome to the group. I find it funny how many of us have had to travel to get our Caprices. I live just north of Charlotte NC and had to go to Atlanta GA to get mine back in February.

K9, you win the shortest distance award... we'll reimburse you for 16 miles worth of rubber, 8 miles up, 8 miles back.... or a beer at the meet on me :) I went from the Kennedy Space Center area to around Atlanta. Looks like most of us did travel for these rides.

Welcome Jim!
