Hi, I bought my 2012 Caprice about a year ago, it's an ex Washington Sate Patrol Car. I have been checking out the forum for a while, but finally decided to join. I live in SW Washington as a ground Mechanic for an airline and work on my car passion at home. It has been my daily until January when the engine started making noise. I decided to pull it and tear it apart for inspection. I found the cam bearings a little worn, and the cylinder walls out of round. It is at the machine shop getting bored .020 over, new pistons, new cam bearings, crank polished, and new bearings. I am doing DOD delete with a BTR LS3 stage 1 cam, Texas speed Delete kit with moral lifters, CHE bronze rocker trunion upgrade, new melling oil pump, and new accessories. I am also upgrading to JBA SS headers, hi flow cats, and adapting to a Camaro ZL1 Bimodal exhaust. Hoping to get it back on the road in the new few weeks, I miss driving it, it was a blast before the mods.

Hey Joe! Welcome to the Forum. I was really hoping you would get a used jet engine from work and make it work in the caprice but I guess you plan is OK too!! Have fun!

Yeah! A fellow SW Washington PPV owner... outstanding!

I assume ground mechanic at PDX, but maybe SEA?

I kind of live in between, but closer to PDX.

Got any photos of that PPV prior to it’s engine refresh?

Hey Joe!

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your purchase! If you would, could you please re u/l your pics in a smaller size? We limit to 1280 x 1024, anything larger then that is subject to being moderated.

Now that would be interesting.... an RB211 powered Caprice! Watch out for that kickdown when you nail it! Spool time!!!

Thanks
Eric
