Hi from Chicago

Post by RowChicago »

Coming in from Chicago, new member. No Caprice yet. I’m on the hunt for a 9c3. I live literally two minutes from Chicago Motors, the cop car resale place, which gave me the idea of getting a Caprice.

I’m looking for the right one. Darker color (no white) with the centered trans control and regular style center console setup. I’m looking for low miles with corresponding hours, less sitting and running, more driving hours.

I’m patient and realistic about how these things come up on the market. I want to land the right 9c3, maybe a 9c1 without ripped up center console, plastic seats and a cage.

6.0 for sure. Not interested in a V6.

I formerly drove a 2003 Wrangler with over 180k on the clock. Had to part ways with last spring time. A Caprice will be luxury in comparison. Wife’s Kia SUV works for me for now. I’m looking forward to the hunt for the right car for me.

Thanks to the folks who run the site.

Welcome, and good luck on the quest. I know you realize that your search criteria means that the cars you're looking for are rather rare and when you find one..... strike fast or get lost in the ground clutter!

Yea I bought mine from Chicago Motors. A nice blue Caprice, wish it still had the push bar and spotlight tho. But was happy working with them... That Asia Motors sells garbage, I watched them spray paint the rims and tires on one of the caprices I was looking at, while walking up to it. Changed my mind and turned around after that..
