long time listener, first time caller
bought my 2011 about 2 weeks ago from Hullinger "you tube video guy" is that how you all know him?
already did the balancer, fender repeaters and refreshed the 9c3 hub caps. love this car
work in parts dept at local chevy dealer.[no I cant get holden parts]

the car had lifter issue ? you are not fixing it ?

Car had a bad balancer. Has cold start piston slap. 89k miles and counting. I ll let ya know when the dod fails. Fingers crossed it doesnt happen before I am ready to upgrade cam etc.

What symptom indicated a worn out balancer?

Not OP but when I got my car the balancer was noisy as all get out, and it wobbled like it was loosened up to be removed. It was very noticeable on both counts.

Not as squeaky as the video posted. More of like a woosh woosh woosh sound. Outer ring was no longer on the same plain as center hub. Apparently really common. OTC puller made it fast job. Cold start piston slapping sounds similar to lifter noise I guess. Goes away once engine approaches operating temp.

I believe I get a bit of cold-start piston slap, too. It's usually almost all gone by the time I get to the end of the driveway. I'm at about 90K on the clock.
