New to the forum but not to Chevy's

Post by 97CAIVIAROSS »

Hello gents and ladies. I am going to be swapping my 2009 Tahoe SSV 4x4 for a 2012 Caprice PPV 6.0 for work. So I was excited to get back into a car but now I am seeing it will have no aux port for my iphone. Looks like Tom Slick is the man to speak with about one of these cables. Have been reading the forum for a couple of days like other forums I am on there is a lot of good info.

Derek.
Welcome to the group and congrats on the swap. Tom will be a goof resource for you. I have personally seen him dissect these radios electronically for the hardware and connections required. Chris White and his company will be able to program a lot of content back into our radios. Enjoy the ride.

Cheers!

Hi Derek!

Welcome to our little happy home here. I'm guessing you're active LEO, there's a few both active & retired on the forum. Interesting to see you make the migration from a Tahoe when agencies seem like they are trying to push the other way. On the Holden iQ, remember that you need not only the cable, but Chris White's programming to activate the options on the radio that GM programmed off. Once you do that however, the radio really becomes something that complements the vehicle.

Again, welcome!

Eric

Eric.. Thanks. I am not responding as much so I am swapping with a junior guy so he can have 4wd. Yeah i have to see the total cost to do it because I would be paying out of pocket and they can take it away at any time.
