Recall: 12026 - Front Seat wire connector corrosion.

Got my Caprice back just minutes ago, and went straight back to work so didn't have a chance to look over it yet - I really hate leaving my car at some other service department.

Heh, yeah, but when would you get a chance to work on it in your shop?

I know how you feel. About the only things I farm out are transmission rebuilds (and I'll many times pull the trans myself), and welding. Otherwise, it gets done in my home shop.

Since these were recall items it had to go to the dealer. From now on I will get all the work done myself, or with help of people i trust. And by the way, if you ever find yourself where you could use an extra pair of hands when wrenching on your Caprice I will be more than glad to help. I won't pretend to know much about those engines yet, but I can hold the flashlight and I like to talk about cars ;)

Slowly, slowly. I ordered several interior pieces to replace those with holes/breaks, as well as the driver's side door seal and the leather replacement shifter knob piece. They had to special order something, so I'm still waiting for those parts.

I did get the ticket light installed, finally, so we did have a small victory today. Otherwise, I'm WOP (waiting on parts) and scheming my next mod. We recently had to replace our lawn tractor (we've paid LESS for running cars than this stupid tractor cost, but it's very, very nice), so I'll be waiting a bit before any major mods, like suspension or exhaust/intake, so I'll just surf the web and fill my spreadsheet with new part numbers.

Yes, it can be, but when my wife asks me 'what do you want for <insert favorite gift-giving day here>?', I can just print out the spreadsheet and say 'Here, surprise me!'

It works wonderfully, and I still have the part numbers picked out when I am in a spot to order some mods.

There is also a wiper motor recall. Check your Vin # on the GM recall site.
