yes they are backwards, new keys i have just gotten are like the ones labeled old on your pic, did anyone read the reason for this recall is that when the key is in the on position its very possible to hit the black end of the key with your knee or leg and this snaps the key off in ignition with car running and no way to remove it easily? Just turning it 90 supposed to make a huge difference... I don't understand why they had to mess with the old way with the seperate fob which is attached to key with the ring... was so easy to start your car and heat it up back then with the fob for keeping it locked... oh well I want the 90's back...

Thanks, Fixed it. I think the more dangerous problem is if your knee hit it and it shut off the car. Loss of power steering, brake booster etc. People freak out not knowing what they did with their knee and smash into something.

I made it to houston and the car is kind of a mixed bag. The selling dealer picture were taken quite strategically. With that said, I have a 1700 mile drive on Wednesday and would like to buy a spare wheel. If anyone has one close to interstate 10, I'll buy it.

Looks like we have the pre-recall key. Lime the OP, we only got one key, so getting the recall taken care of will help that issue.

check the RPO stuff on the spare tire well to see if you have code AMF which means the car is supposed to come with 6 keys, then you can force the dealer to give you the 6 new ones not a single. I did same when i picked up my car, they had no idea and even bought me a couple extra of the remote transmitter portion of the key which i suspect they would not be legally bound to do since the car only had 3 key sets to begin with.
