Did you use overlays on the bowties?

Initially I used plasti-dip to paint the grill surround and trunk trim. Worked great on the trunk, but not the grill. Does not hold up well to rocks, bugs and scrubbing. I have since removed the dip and scuffed up the chrome with a 3M disc, then painted them a semi gloss black. Looks better to me and holds up better than the dip.
The 6.0L emblem is a custom emblem bought from Emblem Pros. They can do just about anything.
Thanks.

On the bowties I just painted the whole thing with plasti dip, than came back with an exacto knife and cut a line along the natural transition between the gold and chrome then peeled it back off the chrome leaving the black bowtie with chrome surround.
On my patrol car, I separated the chrome and gold parts of the bowtie, plasti dipped the gold black and chrome red then put them back together to make a black bowtie with red outline. Its looks awesome. Ill post a pic soon.

I did these when I wrapped the door inserts. I thought I'd share them here. Yeah, the car is dirty...
I'd like to try having the a bright red gloss as an outline rather than the chrome. Remember the old "Beware of the guy with the red bow tie" ad campaign? I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
