9C1 Console Installation 2011-'13
Re: 9C1 Console Installation 2011-'13
To take up the unused real estate in the window switch location I used a passenger PPV switch plate to house the switch for the heated seat. I left room for the exhaust cutout switch.

I'm really thinking that 3M Dynoc carbon fiber vinyl would be the way to go, but that's just me.
Nice work!!

Can you make a separate thread when you do the install of the heater elements on your seats? Or are you switching to some type of factory already heated version that will just plug into the wiring you add?
Looks pretty good otherwise, seems like you have room for some other switches or something in that center console area?

The heated seats are already in and was just an aftermarket kit. Fairly strait forward install.
The extra space for buttons is nice. I plan on installing switches to control the Xforce varex exhaust if it gets here from down under.

I think I'm not alone in wondering how to install heated seats elements in the stock seats, I've used a generic kit before but the part where I had to remove the stock seat covers to put the elements onto the seat foam wasn't the easiest thing.

Re: 9C1 Console Installation 2011-'13
I recovered the seats in our 86 SVO. Even with a decent collection of tools, and help, I'm convinced I'll never do that again. I can't imagine how they do it on the assembly line, and am certain upholsterers are grossly-underpaid. But that's just me.
Getting the cover stretched uniformly across the seat surface and the hognose clips back into place requires having about three or four strong hands in the exact same place.

The stock seats are not difficult to disassemble at all. They have simple plastic strips that clip in the seat frames and Velcro strips to hold the pleated sections. No hog rings juts plastic strips retaining strips and Velcro.

Re: 9C1 Console Installation 2011-'13
I just picked up my very own G8 console, just one question... Is it not possible to use a G8 shifter and use the tapshift?

Re: 9C1 Console Installation 2011-'13
I also just picked up a G8 console also for my 2013 PC1... so I'm following... it really is looking like more work than expected... ugh.
I was fortunate to get the shifter, parking brake, window switches, etc... all with mine. So I wont have too many holes or missing parts. Can I use the G8 brake cable in my 9C1? How does the foot parking brake interfere with the new console?
