9C1 shifter X373 Pin Out

Post by 91C02920 »

Here is a pic of the X373 connector in my 9C1. I'm trying to determine the pin out on it. I'll be converting over to a G8 console pretty soon.

This is what I think the pin out is near as I can tell, and the questions I have are on the highlighted 2 wires.

The Caprice Shifter schematic shows on the 9C1 TN going to Pin 5 on the X373 connector then to S48E multi-function switch I assume is the Sport mode switch. But Pin 5 is Grey on my harness.

Now Pin 7 is Brown/Orange. The only reference to Brown/Orange I could find is on BCM X2 Pin 21 BN/OG Traction Control Switch. Seems like that is what this is.

Anyone know if that is correct?

Now on adding the G8 Shifter-
Going back to the TUTD schematic, clearly I do not have PU 1375 at Pin 1. I will have to add that. I do have it on BCM connector X1 so I'll look to harness J218 in the steering column to grab that.
And I need Pin 4 PU/RD 5526 Transmission Range Select Reference. I do not have that at BCM X1 Pin 20, so I will have to add that wire. (I suppose I could move the existing Sport mode wire from connector X2 to X1, but I might just run a new one.)

After that, and a BCM reprogram, I should have TUTD.

Does this sound right?

Here is the 9C3 X373 Pin out: http://newcaprice.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... t=20#p9142" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Looks like alldatadiy has the connector end view with all wires on it, 9C1 & 9C3 combined it looks like, hidden under Connector End Views by Number. End views by name shows only the 9C3 wires. Here is what they have.
