Blacked out trim

Post by smwalker »

Noticed on pics of the last Grange they are going with contrasting trim for the repeaters and body moldings. Neat look for the whites and silvers:

I like its stance too. What springs are available to achieve that look?
2013 9C3, DoD delete, BTR Stg 1, Kooks 1 7/8, Rotofab, 3.27 Diff, VMR 810 wheels (staggered), King Springs (lowered), oh and a D1SC.

The stance is 100% normal on all Caprice cars, it's actually a clever illusion.
Note that the bottom of the side sills are parallel to ground
Then the bottom of the doors, and the styling spear is raised at the rear.
Then the crease line just below the door handles is lifted even more
Then finally the Window sill/Reveal Moulding is canted up even further

I do believe the PPV has a slightly raised suspension compared to civilian caprices in aus

The front & rear bumper covers and rocker panels (side skirts) are different on PPV compared to Holden Caprice & HSV Grange, so that will change the visual impact, too.

It can still be an optical illusion. Remember we're running smaller wheels than the ones on the example posted. One can achieve that look on factory wheels with springs, though.

Pontiac introduced "ground effects" to Holden when they started working together. :D

Well, black trims will always look good on white cars.
